Tribute to Christian Lacroix

In shock, i was informed by the French news that Maison de Christian Lacroix has filed for bankruptcy and yesterday's AW haute couture show may be the last from the designer.

My heart aches when i read that the designer used old fabrics in stock to create the 24-piece collection. And of course, the designer works without any salary for months already.

Using showrooms provided by Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and with supports from shoe-designer Roger Vivier and brodeur Hurel, the show was a huge success with only 280 invitées.

I personally think the show was one of his best and do click here to view the complete collection.

"Il n'est pas possible que le ciel ait donné à Lacroix ce destin sur Terre pour ne pas lui réserver un autre avenir"
(too beautiful to translate as i can't find the suitable english words...)

Girls...

From what i read, his company dibeli oleh Americans since 2005. And economic crisis..alamatnya lingkup la his syarikat.

And yes, it's his company that filed for bankruptcy, not Christian Lacroix himself. But, as he refused to work for other fashion houses, so maybe we wont see his designs anymore.

And if his company bankrupt and Christian Lacroix intends to set up a new company, he can NO LONGER use his own name. So the brand Cristian Lacroix will die along with the company. (The same thing happened to our own Jimmy Choo when he sells his company)

It's a sad day for the fashion idustry.
